YELLZEAL / EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT
Preparing to employ an SSW candidate
For employers with an identified candidate: coordinate the application, workplace and living arrangements, and the start of support.

Begin with the duties and eligibility conditions
We review whether the proposed duties fall within Specified Skilled Worker activities, the candidate’s examination or technical intern training history, and the employer’s eligibility. A job offer alone does not authorize work. The necessary procedures and conditions for starting employment must be clear.
The candidate’s circumstances determine the preparation
| Situation | Procedures and conditions to review | What the employer prepares |
|---|---|---|
| The candidate is overseas | Certificate of Eligibility, visa and entry procedures, together with country-specific requirements where applicable. | Employment terms, the support plan, housing and proposed arrival arrangements. |
| The candidate is in Japan | Current status and activities, whether a change of status is required, and conditions for changing employers. | Current activities, period of stay and the proposed duties. |
| Moving from technical intern training | Completion history and the relationship between the training and the proposed SSW field and duties. | The person’s records and evidence concerning skill and Japanese-language requirements. |
| Continuing employment of an existing employee | Period of stay, current status and any changes to the plan or other arrangements. | Actual duties, employment circumstances and support delivery records. |

Assign responsibility for the documents
Requirements vary by the application and circumstances. Relevant records may include company registration, financial statements, tax and social insurance documents, employment terms and evidence of the candidate’s qualifications and background. Use the current official list and identify who will prepare each item.
Prepare the application and daily life together
Check the conditions
Review the work, candidate, employer and field-specific requirements.
Prepare the plan and records
Organize employment terms, support arrangements and company and candidate documents.
Apply and prepare for arrival
Coordinate examination progress with housing, commuting and arrival plans.
Confirm the start conditions
Confirm the required permission and other conditions before employment and support begin.

Connect the home and the workplace
Confirm who will arrange housing, how contract costs will be paid, the commuting route, daily-life procedures and emergency contacts. Also review employer preparations relating to cooperation confirmation documents for the relevant municipalities and coordination with local measures for coexistence.
Employer preparation checklist
- Explain the main duties, workplace and the proportion of time spent on each activity.
- Prepare a comparison of remuneration and treatment with Japanese employees doing equivalent work.
- Check field-specific procedures and council or other requirements against official guidance.
- Identify who will deliver support, in which language, where and how often.
- Manage the desired start date alongside the period of stay, housing arrangements and arrival schedule.

Prepare the people who will receive the employee
HR and workplace supervisors should share the conditions for starting work, the reporting and instruction arrangements, consultation contacts and the support schedule. A pending application is not, by itself, permission to begin the proposed work. Confirm the activities permitted under the employee’s current status.
This service is for preparing to employ an identified candidate; it does not include a commitment to introduce candidates. We confirm the scope we can undertake after reviewing the field, actual duties, location and language needs. Approval and examination times cannot be guaranteed.
